Lakeside Games is a small independent studio. These terms cover your use of our website, our games, and Ask, our question-answering assistant. By creating an account or playing, you agree to what is written here.

What we provide

We run four games and the servers behind them:

• A House Divided is a persistent political and economic simulation that advances every hour.
• Corporate Warfare is an offline economic strategy game for phones, tablets, and computers, in development.
• Grand Century is a browser grand strategy game, in development.
• Margin of Victory is an election campaign strategy game in the browser.

A House Divided, Grand Century, and Corporate Warfare are free to play. Some optional purchases unlock local single-player access or supporter perks. One Lakeside account works across the games that use accounts.

We also run Ask, which answers questions about how the games work. Ask uses AI models and can be wrong, out of date, or incomplete. Treat its answers as a hint, not as a rule: if Ask and the game disagree, the game is right. Ask has its own terms and privacy notice.

Your account

You sign in with a Lakeside ID. You can link a Discord or Google account to make signing in easier. Keep your login details to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Do not share it, sell it, or use someone else's. If you think your account has been accessed by someone else, email us at contact@lakesidegames.net.

Acceptable use

Play fair and treat other players decently. Do not do any of the following:

• Cheat, exploit bugs for advantage, or use bots and automated tools to play for you.
• Run multiple accounts to gain an unfair edge, such as vote farming or referral farming.
• Harass, threaten, or abuse other players or the developers.
• Try to break into, overload, or disrupt our servers.
• Post content that is illegal, or that impersonates someone else.

If you break these rules we may suspend or close your account. For serious cases we will act without warning.

The games are in active development

Our games are provided as-is and as-available while we build them. Things change often. Features get added, reworked, or removed. Balance shifts. Live worlds can be reset when a game era ends. We do our best to keep everything running and to warn you before big changes, but we cannot promise the games will always be available or bug-free.

Purchases

Some purchases unlock digital content:

• The one-time $20 permanent AHDClient access for local Singleplayer and Worldsim.
• Optional monthly Supporter plans, billed through Stripe or Patreon.

These are licences to use digital content inside the games. They are not physical goods and have no cash value. Payments are handled by Stripe or Patreon. See our Refund Policy for how refunds work.

How we handle your data is set out in our Privacy Policy.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the games grow. If we make a significant change we will note it on the site. Continuing to play after a change means you accept the updated terms.
