The rules for using our games and your account. Plain language, no surprises.
Lakeside Games is a small independent studio run by two developers. These terms cover your use of our website, our games, and Ask, our question-answering assistant. By creating an account or playing, you agree to what is written here.
We run three games and the servers behind them. A House Divided is a live political and economic simulation that keeps advancing on its own schedule. MetroForge is a city and transit builder. Electioneer is an election campaign game. All three are free to play. You can use one Lakeside account across them.
We also run Ask, which answers questions about how the games work. Ask uses AI models and can be wrong, out of date, or incomplete. Treat its answers as a hint, not as a rule: if Ask and the game disagree, the game is right. Ask has its own terms and privacy notice.
You sign in with a Lakeside ID. You can link a Discord or Google account to make signing in easier. Keep your login details to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Do not share it, sell it, or use someone else's. If you think your account has been accessed by someone else, email us at contact@lakesidegames.net.
Play fair and treat other players decently. Do not do any of the following:
If you break these rules we may suspend or close your account. For serious cases we will act without warning.
Our games are provided as-is and as-available while we build them. Things change often. Features get added, reworked, or removed. Balance shifts. Live worlds can be reset when a game era ends. We do our best to keep everything running and to warn you before big changes, but we cannot promise the games will always be available or bug-free.
Some purchases unlock digital in-game content, such as scenarios, packs, or cosmetic items. These are licenses to use that content inside the game. They are not physical goods and have no cash value. Payments are handled by Stripe. See our Refund Policy for how refunds work.
How we handle your data is set out in our Privacy Policy.
We may update these terms as the games grow. If we make a significant change we will note it on the site. Continuing to play after a change means you accept the updated terms.
